03/26/2006 - Verona - Duplex Fire
School Street
Quick work by Verona, Penn Hills 224, and Oakmont firefighters
help to stop a fire in a duplex made of insulbrik along the narrow and deadend
School Street in Verona Pa.
With neighbors houses no more than 4 ft away the whole
block could have been destroyed due to the nature of how insulbrik siding which
has a tar that burns out of control.
Firefighters were able to quickly hold the
fire to the bedroom and attic of the one side of the duplex preventing its spread.
The family escaped without harm and 1 unidentified firefighter suffered minor
burns to both hands and was treated and released from the scene.
Good Work Guys
and Gals at stopping a major tragedy from happening.
