:: S. Harrisburg St. near High Street

Basement Fire In Oberlin

March 20 - At 0045 hours Dauphin County tones dropped for a structure fire on S. Harrisburg Street near High Street in the Oberlin neighborhood of Swatara Township. First due Engine 43, which had just cleared a fire alarm in the 456 Box area, was immediately enroute and arrived to a light smoke condition from a 2 story private dwelling. All occupants were outside upon arrival. Engine 43 hit the hydrant in front of the structure and along with Engine 41's (Bressler) crew stretched a line to the basement knocking down a rapidly spreading fire in 5 minutes. Medium smoke filled the structure and PPV was set up. Control was marked in 10 minutes.
