The Mon Yough
Fire Defense council was oganized by fire companies in the vicinity of the junciont of the Monongahela and Youghiogheny rivers in 1941.
It has since expanded to include rescue and emergency medical services. This agency has been called upon time and time again for
the protection of the people. As a pioneer in the field of mutual aid, the organization has now grown to be one of the largest,
strongest, and most organized units in the commonweath.
